Programs and Majors

Educational Technology (Teacher Education Track)

Aligned with national strategies for economic and social development and the needs of education reform, this program serves the basic education sector of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. It aims to cultivate secondary-school Information Technology teachers and digital education specialists with strong professional ethics, solid disciplinary foundations, high-level ICT competency, and the ability to teach information technology courses, conduct research on digital teaching, and promote school-level digital transformation. The program also prepares students for advanced study at the postgraduate level.

Core courses include Introduction to Educational Technology, Research Methods in Educational Technology, Instructional Systems Design, Information Technology Curriculum and Teaching, Artificial Intelligence Curriculum and Teaching, AI Applications in Education, Deep Learning and Large Models, Educational Software Design, and Learning Analytic, along with practicum-based projects.

 Educational Technology (Non-Teacher Education Track)

This program addresses the rapidly expanding educational technology industry and aims to cultivate versatile technical professionals specializing in digital media development and intelligent education system integration. Graduates may pursue careers in educational technology enterprises, government agencies, and related sectors, engaging in digital media design, network system administration, and AI-driven educational product development.

Courses emphasize industry–academia integration and include Principles and Applications of Multimedia, Digital Audio-Video Production, Computer Animation Design, as well as practical modules such as network system integration, robotics programming and control, and open-source hardware development. Students gain hands-on experience through corporate internships and participation in real-world smart learning environment projects.

 Journalism

This program cultivates highly qualified applied professionals with firm political orientation, strong professional ethics, broad knowledge of the humanities and social sciences, and solid professional competence in journalism. Students acquire theoretical foundations in journalism and communication, along with practical skills in reporting, writing, editing, commentary, and visual communication. Graduates are prepared to work in emerging intelligent media platforms and communication departments in government agencies and enterprises, engaging in news reporting, public communication, and publishing management.

Core courses include Introduction to Journalism, History of Chinese and Foreign Journalism, and Integrated News Reporting. Emerging courses include Data Visualization for Journalism, Documentary Production, Digital Communication and Social Development in China, Internet Public Opinion Studies, and Media Convergence Practices.

 Communication Studies

With a focus on the media and cultural industries—including video production, advertising and public relations, creative industries, and new media platforms—this program cultivates high-level applied professionals capable of planning, reporting, designing, producing, and managing communication-related work across various industries. Students develop a solid foundation in the humanities and social sciences and gain systematic mastery of communication theories and applied techniques.

Core courses include Introduction to Communication Studies, Introduction to Journalism, Advertising, and Introduction to Sociology. Additional courses include Drone Aerial Photography, AI for New Media, Network Sociology, and Media Convergence Practices.
