On July 27-29, the finals of the First National Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers were held at Fudan University. On behalf of Guangdong Province, associate professor Xia Baojun's course team won the first prize, which is the best achievement of our school in national teaching competitions.
Ms. Xia Baojun participated in the competition with the course "Public Relations", which fully demonstrated the innovative history, innovative initiatives and innovative features of the course construction. The course team reconstructed the content system of the public relations course based on the perspective of spreading China's voice, reshaped the cultivation path of excellent news and communication talents based on the integrated three-loop teaching mode, and reconstructed the evaluation system of students' PR literacy based on the integration of the “industry +” intelligent technology, which fully embodied the concept of teaching innovation and the effectiveness of innovation.
It is reported that the National Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers is one of the competitions approved by the Ministry of Education, sponsored by the Chinese Society of Higher Education, and included in the "List of Retained Projects of Three Evaluations and One Competition for Units Directly Under the Ministry of Education", and it is the only teaching competition for college teachers in the list of the projects at the moment. Since its official launch in October 2020, the competition has gained wide attention and enthusiastic participation from colleges and universities nationwide.
The competition adheres to the tenet of "promoting teaching innovation and creating first-class courses", adheres to the center of student development, and aims to take the concept of "four new" construction as a guide, focus on teaching innovation, enhance teachers' ability to deeply integrate modern information technology with education and teaching, and improve the quality of talent cultivation. A total of 50,386 teachers from 1071 general undergraduate colleges and universities participated in the preliminary round, and 198 teachers or teams participated in the final round of, with a total of 30 first prizes.
The leadership team of the school attached great importance to this competition, and collaborated with and fully supported the instructing team and resource platform. Prof. Xie Youru, Hu Xiaoyong and other master teachers have provided detailed assistance to the participating teams, such as sort outing course materials and polishing the report results. Mr. Hu Xiaoyong, deputy dean of the school, accompanied Ms. Xia Baojun to compete in the competition in Shanghai and provided pre-competition guidance on behalf of the school. In recent years, the school attaches great importance to the "four returns", consolidates the construction of first-class majors and first-class courses, and improves teachers' teaching skills. In the previous provincial competition, Ms. Xia Baojun's team won the first prize in the associate professor group and Ms. Zhang Qianwei's team won the third prize in the professor group. Our school will continue to promote and support teachers to actively carry out teaching reform and innovation, explore new forms of intelligent education, and help first-class undergraduate majors and first-class courses to the next level.
