Focusing on the Growth of Young Faculty — Fourth Session of the Development Salon Successfully Held

On June 5, 2025, the College of Educational Information Technology successfully held the fourth session of the “Development Salon” in Meeting Room 306. Centered on the development of young faculty members, the salon aimed to create a platform for in-depth exchange and shared reflection. Participants included Party Secretary Hongquan Zhao, Dean Qingchao Ke, Vice Dean Pengze Wu, and numerous young faculty members.

Secretary Zhao delivered opening remarks, stating that young faculty represent the future and hope of the College. The salon was designed to listen to their real concerns, address professional challenges, and create a platform for open communication and mutual learning. Dean Ke analyzed opportunities and challenges facing young faculty in the context of rapid information technology development and the College’s long-term strategic needs. He emphasized that young faculty play a key role in driving innovation in teaching and research and encouraged them to actively integrate personal development with the College’s mission.

Young faculty members shared experiences from teaching and research, discussed career development challenges, and presented innovative ideas and initial research outcomes. They also raised practical questions regarding resource integration, research policy orientation, and career planning. The discussions were dynamic and interactive.

College leaders responded to the issues raised and provided guidance. In concluding remarks, Secretary Zhao and Dean Ke expressed strong affirmation of the young faculty’s enthusiasm and thoughtful contributions. They reiterated the College’s commitment to supporting young faculty development by creating better conditions and platforms and encouraged them to continue contributing to teaching reform and research innovation.
