This program leverages the academic heritage of South China Normal University, a national "Double First-Class" construction university, and integrates high-quality resources from first-class disciplines including Education, Journalism and Communication, and Chinese Language and Literature. Rooted in the core geographical advantage of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the development momentum of its cultural industry, the program responds to the strategic needs of publishing industry transformation in the digital era and the development of a culturally strong nation. It focuses on three distinctive training directions: Competency-Based Educational Publishing, Integrated Publishing in the GBA, and Publishing and Cultural Going Global, and has built a compound talent training system that deeply integrates theory and practice, and keeps pace with technology and industry development.
The program attaches equal importance to professional literacy, digital competence and social practice, strictly complies with the core training requirements of the National Steering Committee for Master of Publishing Education, and systematically integrates cutting-edge industry content such as AIGC, big data analysis, and immersive media to build an AI-integrated curriculum system covering the whole publishing process. The program implements a "dual supervisor system", pairing each student with an on-campus academic supervisor and an off-campus industry practice supervisor. Relying on 23 co-built internship bases with leading industry enterprises, it deepens industry-education integration and collaborative education. The program is committed to cultivating high-level and application-oriented publishing professionals with firm political integrity, solid professional foundation in publishing, outstanding digital innovation ability and cross-cultural communication competence, who can serve the national cultural strategy and lead the high-quality development of the publishing industry.
